About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our successful school and play a key role in supporting our Science Faculty. We are seeking a motivated and organised individual with experience in laboratory environments who can take ownership of preparing and maintaining scientific equipment and materials, and support teachers in delivering high-quality practical learning experiences for students.
About You:
We are looking for a candidate with a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the flexibility and willingness to embrace new challenges - essential attributes in a dynamic school setting. The successful candidate will be able to integrate seamlessly into our team and take full responsibility for their work, ensuring that health and safety standards are upheld and that practical lessons run smoothly.
For the right candidate, there may also be an opportunity to take on additional responsibilities as a Class Cover Supervisor, supporting continuity of learning across the school by supervising classes during teacher absence. This aspect of the role would be remunerated at TPAT Point 9 and would be discussed at interview, based on experience and interest.
At Hayle Academy, learning is at the heart of everything we do, and we fully recognise the importance of highly effective support staff in enabling outstanding provision for our students. Full training and support will be provided to ensure success in all aspects of the role.
Hayle Academy currently has 633 students aged 11–16 on roll. In our most recent Ofsted inspection (March 2022), the school was rated Good, with inspectors noting the many exceptional qualities of our school. Our vision is to create a unique, outstanding, vibrant learning community—a place of learning excellence for everyone. We are proud to be part of the Truro and Penwith Academy Trust.
This is an exciting time to join Hayle Academy as we strive to become a beacon of excellence in Cornwall. We see our staff as our most important resource, and the successful candidate will have our full support in their ongoing career development.
