Gulval School is looking to appoint a positive, friendly, efficient and highly organised School Secretary with financial responsibility to join our welcoming and committed team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a central role in the smooth day-to-day running of our school — supporting staff, pupils, families and visitors — as part of the first Thrive School of Excellence in the country.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the financial and administrative operations of our school. As the first point of contact, they will provide a warm and professional welcome to all visitors, while primarily overseeing a range of financial tasks including processing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records and completing census activities. In addition, the role may include light-touch support for educational delivery, such as hearing children read or assisting with learning activities, helping to foster a positive and nurturing school environment. They will support the leadership team by ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school office.
About You:
The successful candidate will:
o Be highly organised, proactive and efficient, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
o Demonstrate professionalism, discretion and attention to detail in all aspects of their work
o Be confident in the use of IT systems (MIS and Microsoft Office experience desirable)
o Have the ability to work calmly under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively
o Be a positive and committed team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
o Share in our passion for adventurous learning and be keen to play an active role in our school community
