Early Career Teachers

Through Teach First, with the support of One Cornwall, (our Apropriate Body) we offer an enriched ECT programme. TPAT provides both the statutory entitlements and seminars outline below, and a wider trust ECT programme. This brings teachers who are new to the profession together to share vital learning opportunities and experiences with one another in an open, collegiate and supportive environment.

ECT 2

  • Helping pupils to journey from extrinsic to intrinsic motivation in your subject or phase.
  • Intergrating strategies to support the working memory into your classroom practice. 
  • Using meaningful and memorable explanations in your subjects or phase.
  • Anticipating and addressing common misconceptions in your subject or phase.
  • Teaching key concepts through a range of powerful analogies, illustrations and demonstrations within a subject area
