About The Role:
We are seeking to appoint a full time (part-time considered), dynamic and solution focused Deputy SENDCo to join the SEND Team at Hayle Academy. This unique and exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate play a vital role in implementing the current SEND strategy across our whole school. It is a role which has a wide influence that permeates through all aspects of school life and our approach to learning, teaching and the personal development of our students.
As an integral member of the team, key duties will include identifying and supporting students who are experiencing barriers to learning, suporting the vision and strategic direction of Hayle Academy by continuing to cultivate an inclusive learning environment throughout the school. You will support the development of the graduated response at a whole school level and within the Area Resource Base, and lead staff in achieving best practice, enabling all students to achieve their best. You will also assist the AHT SENCO with all SEN administration and the management of the Area Resource Base provision at Hayle.
About You:
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated professional who has proven and demonstrable SEN experience, and also holds or is willing to study for the nationally recognised SENCO qualification. Most importantly, you will have the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements of this varied role, which is likely to involve a fifty percent teaching commitment. The successful candidate's skills and experience will determine whether they primarily teach in mainstream classrooms or within our Area Resource Base, or potentially both.
The successful candidate will have presence, personality and drive; they will be able to integrate seamlessly into our team and hit the ground running. The successful candidate will be able to command respect, win hearts and minds, and inspire, enthuse and motivate staff and students alike. The successful applicant will need to have a passion for learning and a determination that all students can learn and achieve to their best potential, regardless of barriers.
