About The Role:
Truro and Penwith Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an Attendance Officer to play a key role in the Trust's tiered approach to attendance. The post will support the Educational Welfare Officer in providing targeted support to students, particularly those most disadvantaged, ensuring high-quality provision and promoting a culture of high attendance and punctuality. You will support schools with the Trust Attendance Strategy to reduce levels of absence alongside supporting casework and monitoring student attendance, with the role working closely with external agencies, ensuring families are supported and referrals are made as necessary. This is a key role where strong communication, and organisational skills will be key to ensuring strong relationships are built with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally.
About You:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
· Practical experience of working in the area of specialism & to include supervisory responsibility.
· Experience of working with young people of primary and/or secondary age.
· Knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to the safeguarding and protection of children.
· Ability to work on own initiative within school protocols & procedures handling sensitive data.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with young people, parents/carers and external agencies.
