Helston Community College, part of Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our Pastoral Team as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

We are looking for a Deputy DSL who will share responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the College.  They will take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings, and contribute to the assessment of children.  They will advise and support other members of staff on child welfare and child protection matters and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and Police.

You will have:

  • A Safeguarding Level 3 qualification or willingness to work toward
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Evidence of recent experience working within the field of safeguarding
