CEO of Truro & Penwith Academy Trust Receives OBE!

Congratulations to Jenny Blunden, CEO of Truro & Penwith Academy Trust, for receiving her Order of the British Empire (OBE) award!

“Privileged, humbled, honoured…”

Just some of the words that Jenny used to describe her memorable experience at Buckingham Palace on 7th November, when she received her OBE from Prince Charles.

“During the ceremony Prince Charles praised our work in Cornwall! I was able to share how enormously proud I am of what we are achieving as a trust.”

We are nationally and regionally recognised as a great school trust due to the collective efforts of every member of our extended family of leaders, teachers and support teams across Cornwall, who improve life chances for our children and young people every day.

“This recognition at the palace was received on behalf of everyone in our trust and my only disappointment was that everyone couldn’t be there!”

Newlyn School & The Rugby World Cup!

Will Keating a Cornish Folk Singer, invited Newlyn School to record Swing Low Sweet Chariot as a way of supporting Jack Nowell, Luke Cowan-Dickie and the England rugby team in their quest to win the Rugby World Cup. The children sang with other schools Jack and Luke had attended. Some of our children were also interviewed by BBC Radio Cornwall and BBC Spotlight.
