The playmaker award is a structured, fun and engaging programmed for primary school pupils, designed to develop leadership skills. David Tremaine spent the day with Year 5 pupils teaching them all the skills needed to help encourage our reception children some new fun team games.
The whole class worked really well in teams and then showed off their newly learnt skills in the afternoon with our reception class Tater Du.
We recently welcomed two lifeguards into school to share the important work of the RNLI, the charity that saves lives at sea. Our guests shared with us that on average 22 people a day of which 5-7 would be children, are rescued by RNLI volunteers.
We watched a film to learn more about the charity, looked at the flags that help to keep us safe at the beach, had some questions and answers and then some of the children volunteered to have a go at a ‘rescue,’ as you can see by the images everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
